Recently, the 51000DWT bulk carriers “Chengshan 01” and “Chengshan 02” built by Taizhou Zhonghang Ship for Tangshan Dongfang Shipping were officially delivered for operation. The multi-master power management controller of SmartGen has been successfully applied to the automatic power station control of this ship type. The ship has a length of 199.98 meters, a width of 32.50 meters, a depth of 16.20 meters, a design draft of 10.8 meters, and is classified by CCS.
The ship’s main switchboard is equipped with four HMC6 multi-master station power management controllers of SmartGen for automatic dispatching and protection functions between three diesel generator sets and one shaft generator set/shore power, among which HMC6 controller controlling shaft generator supports seamless switching between power generation and shore power modes.
During the commissioning of the power station, SmartGen worked together with the main switchboard manufacturers, shipyard project managers, shipowner representatives and complete set manufacturers to ensure that the power station passed the acceptance of classification society with high standard. HMC6 Power Management Controller is a multi-master power management system designed by SmartGen for marine and offshore applications, including diesel generator set, shaft generator set, shore power connection, bus switch control and protection. It can realize an automatic power station system consisting of 16 main diesel generator sets, 3 shaft power generator sets, 3 shore powers, 2 harbor generator sets and 5 contact switches at most, and support ring bus control.
HMC6 controller is equipped with energy quality detection function, which can meet pre-alarm requirement of the electric propulsion ship for harmonic parameters. At the same time, with the expanded input and output modules, it can realize single 16-way heavy-load inquiry at most, and support the heavy-load management mechanism of fixed feedback (digital inquiry) and variable feedback (expanding HMP300 module to collect heavy-load in real time), which can meet the control requirements of different kinds of heavy-load equipment.
